What travelers say:
Nestled on the north shore of Waitemata Harbour, The Riverhead Tavern is the oldest riverside pub in Auckland. Not only is it long-standing, it is said to have had an important impact on the early development of New Zealand. For travelers, anyway, the tavern offers a delicious steak called “Hand of God,” as well as a wide variety of appetizers, entrees, including a variety of pizzas and gorgeous desserts, which is enough. Although the restaurant was rebuilt in 2011, it always inspires diners to pursue old stories, authentic New Zealand cuisine, beer, coffee, and tell of its glory. While dining, look up at the trees swaying outside the window and enjoy the surrounding vegetation and perfect environment. Definitely a stop you can't miss when you're looking for an old New Zealand restaurant!
